Jasmine glances at him, feeling as he was withholding something. Still she didn’t want to press the issue. She wasn’t one to poke around in peoples personal life. She always disliked when people did that to her. “A vampire,” she said and nodded. “I haven’t spent much time around vampires. Or if I did I didn’t know it.” She said as she rubbed the back of her neck the way she did when she was nervous.
“Oh…well,” she said thinking about why she had really come here. “I guess I’ve spent so much time on my own. I thought I should settle down for a while. I don’t really stay in one place for long but,” she shrugged glancing off down the street. “It seems rather nice here, and I guess I’m sort of lonely.” She admitted in a soft voice.
“If it’s any consolation, I’m not exactly your typical vampire, either.” he said with a sigh. “I mean, most vampires are pretty sophisticated and wise… And, I dunno, fun.” Jasper shrugged. He was only 21 years old and often felt like a child amongst all the vampires. They were all at least 50 years old.
“Well,” Jasper said, the hint of a smile still in his eyes, “I hope you like it here enough to stay. I personally think it’s good for a person to stay in one place once i a while. But then again, what would I know…” he let his voice trail off in the silence of the late afternoon.
Hello Sunnybrooke
maxxie-gamble:

Hey, I’m Jasper. Who are you?

Jas smiled “well I don’t know, they seem a lot more delicate than I am.” She informed him as she ran her fingers through her dark hair. “And graceful.” She shrugged, truthfully since the death of her husband so many years ago she had envied humans more than anything. Their fragile lives were so beautiful to Jasmine. Maybe it was also because she had never accepted the truth about what she was. Being a faerie wasn’t something Jas was totally proud of.
She looked at him with wide blue eyes. She was so surprised he had offered to go with her. “Oh,” she said and moved swiftly to walk along side him. “Thank you so much, that is so nice of you.” She said looking over at him. His kindness towards he was so unexpected. “So…what are you then? If you aren’t a faerie?” She asked hoping it wasn’t a rude question to ask.
“Uh,” Jasper said, his voice shaking slightly, “I’m a vampire.” He had never been good at lying at all, and lying around faeries especially made him nervous because they could sense his emotions. He shifted uncomfortably, avoiding eye contact. I’m a terrible liar, he told himself. It was obvious he was hiding something, he could only hope she couldn’t guess what.
“So,” Jasped continued, hoping he could change the subject, “what brings you to Sunnybrooke?” He knew she’d probably been asked that tons of times by now, but he had to say something.
lucyfae-farris:
Well that’s good to here.

I’m doing alright. Can’t really complain.
Great, good to hear that, too.

Jas listened as he spoke. “Oh really,” she said thoughtfully. “I don’t really fit there myself. I’ve never been good at being a fae.” She shrugged. It was the truth, most of the faeries she had known were graceful and perfect, not awkward and uncomfortable like she was. It didn’t really bother her, it made them leave her alone, which usually was what she wanted.
“Oh so you’re pretty new too?” She asked with a nod. “That’s good, so I’m not alone in that,” she said rubbing the back of her neck. “I’m surprised I haven’t gotten lost yet, I was on my way to find some coffee actually.” She explained as she glanced around the street. “Do you know where I can find some?” She asked as she tilted her head to the side. “I’m a failure without coffee,” she smirked slightly to herself.
“Is there a particular way to be a faerie?” Jasper said, raising his eyebrows. He knew what she meant, though, he never felt like he fit in anywhere himself. The vampires accepted him, of course, because they thought he was one of them entirely, but in his mind he always wondered how he’d feel amongst the faeries. It was a question he couldn’t afford to find out the answer to.
“Yeah,” Jasper nodded, “there’s a café around the corner, so you were on the right track.” He smiled at her in a friendly way. “Shall I walk you there? Just in case you get lost, you never know.” He chuckled under his breath and started walking in the direction of the café, not bothering to way for an answer.
lucyfae-farris:
Thank you, Glad I could be of some good use.

So how are you doing, Jas?
I’m OK, what about you?
